Hunted Saturday morning and evening. We were not in the ideal spot but we still managed birds and had a good time that is all that matters. Shot 6 woodies, 1 teal, and a pintail.

Sunday morning hunt. Hunted a public marsh. For some reason we only hunted till about quarter to 8am then picked up. That reason could have been because of the moron 100 yards south of us shooting at any bird up to 70 yards away. Ended up with 2 woodies and one teal there. Then we walked the river for ducks. Ended up with 4 more woodies off of that deal.

Just the wife and I hunted this morning. We got out there a little after legal shooting time. Hunted right on the river. Only took the spinner and put it in the middle of the river. Saw about a doz. woodies and only one came in range and the wife shot it. Was pretty neat to see.

Another SE Wisconsin goose hunt

Was going to try this morning but I was up just a little bit to late last night with some good buddies and adult beverages so I decided to try an evening hunt. Had a migration going today for sure. Saw 500 to 600 birds. Had 4 or 5 flocks come into about 40 yards but wouldn't finish. Found out why, there was a GHG FB that fell off the stake and was sticking face first in the dirt. So I fixed it and waited and waited and finally just before end of shooting time I had 12 come in at 10 yards and only 10 left.

Some of the Dakotas. I was lazy today and only put out 18 Full bodies, but I really didn't need more.

The spread from a distance. My layout is in the middle there.

The two birds. Was going to have the wife take a picture of me with them but the farmer whos land I hunted wanted them so I took a quick pic of them on his shop floor and then he commenced to plucking them(more power to him)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SE Wisconsin

Hunted a new spot that I got permission for yesterday morning. It was a drainage ditch about 15 foot wide but only about a foot deep. Only could hunt till 8:30am because I had some prior engagements today(people coming over for the bears game). Didn't fair to bad though. Wish I would have had the camera with me while I was hunting. I need to just leave it in my truck. Wasn't to bad of a morning though. I used my spinner 2 quiver magnets inside mallard decoys and 2 goose floaters.

Looks like you're getting a few...way to whack 'em! What's the deal with the hen wood ducks? Drakes wouldn't give you any shots at 'em?

I was going to point that out! I actually think they all are immature drakes by looking at the head coloration (white striping).

Yep all 3 are young drakes, way to pick them out Adam!

What I look for is the white bars on the face for drakes, hens don't have those. Had a custemor bring in a young drake the other day thinking he had finally bagged a hen woody to go with the drake I mounted for him a couple yrs ago. Kinda bummed him out when I told him it was a drake.
