NW Manitoba

Well tonight is our last day in Manitoba. Sorry I havent posted sooner but the internet is slow as hell here.. We are 7 hours or so nw of winnipeg in The Pas. There are more ross and snow geese here this year than I have ever seen. They have hardly any crops out yet so I doubt they will leave soon. The weather has been around 16 celsius the whole time so they have no real reason. But I come for the ducks. They are also thick!! Mallards are crazy this year. Some lakes here are holding 10000 or more mallards. We have done very well this year.. Today we had our 16 by 949. Mallards and bluebills. the bluebills are not here as much as usual. today we saw more than we have all week. Years past 7 of our 8 duck limit were bills. No cans this year either. first time for us not gettin at least one. they are here just not wher we are.. last year we shot 14. I also shot a bear on Monday night.. He was small only 227 but he was cinnamon/brown. Awesome bear and I am very happy with him. Out of all the bears he had on camera he was my first choice. Im not even going to try and post pics on here. That would be an hours long process lol.. We do have them on facebook tho. look at mike skinner!! Cant believe the week is over already..

Hey you dont know how good that makes me feel man. I am heading to Dauphin next friday for a week and with the weather pattern the way its looking this week we should hopefully hit it perfect!! I was fretting a little with all the rain they have been having up there this year and how cooler its been compared to last. Great to hear man!!

hows it work with bring duck back into the states. i know fish are kind of a pain in the arse

you can only bring back you possession limit and all birds must have a head or wing attached for id. it also is a good idea to divide them up by person incase they do decide to go through your coolers when you cross the border.
