good number of replies and i didnt take time to read them all... so im sorry if i repeat any comments from before.. but ill give my .02 cents... although many variables can dictate what setup is better than the others

number of decoys to be effective could vary from 6-8 decoys, 1-2 dz decoys, or several dozen... less is more early IMO and sometimes works great late if the field is "hot" and you dont have alot of hunters in your group.

for starters i recommend a cresent shape (half moon) withthe wind at your back obviously, blinds right in the decoys, but leave a few decoys worth of space from the kill hole... if birds dont want to finish, or shy just out of shooting range, you can pull the blinds a head of the decoys by 10-15 yards to put them in range. i dont really like to do that but will if i have to. maybe once a season but most of the time there isnt a prob with finishing them if your in the right field.

last piece of advice, all can be easier when you put the miles on the truck and do your homework.. do your homework and youll get the grades eventually

good luck!!
