What is your setup for walk-in hunts?
I've used cheap bags and carried them in and now I'm using a sled I got for Christmas last year. The sled sucks so far without snow. Curious what everyone else is using. It gets harder the more equipment I get. Pulsator, mojos, etc... |

when I did alot of walking in on public ground I would take a wheel barrow to haul my gear in.

Throw the stuff on your buddies back and walk in without anything! Haha no I carry some stuff otherwise we usually take a canoe and I thought about one of those sleds.

I love my sled. Throw in 3 doz decoys, mojo, blindbag, gun and your good to go. Much easier to use the sled than to have all of that slung over your shoulders while wading through the muck.

I agree. The sled is great for carrying everything. Plus I made a waterproof cover for it so things can stay dry if need be. Also makes a great place for a nap if I need one. Haha.
Thinking I might want to throw some wheels on the sled, like a floating deer cart. My walks are usually pretty long and pulling through tall weeds and whatnot during early seasons gets old. I can pull the wheels off when the snow flies. I assume the sled works much better then. |

We walk in to some gnarly stuff, and to be honest, I love it.
I've tried all sorts of trailers, sleds, carts, etc. The best thing I have found for EVERY situation is the Final Approach Specialty Bag. It is a MONSTROUS bag, I usually get 18 magnums, 12 standards, and 12 teal into it, as well as two homemade spinners, a swamp chair, my SBE II, my dog blind, and on the way out, all of that stuff plus a limit and my clothes that it is now too hot for. I ended up with this setup after trying and hating many other bags. The big difference with this one is it is durable, it has WIDE and PADDED shoulder straps, and it has a suspension system like a nice hiking bag. The reason I ultimately steered away from sleds and trailers is on uneven mucky ground you ultimately waste more energy pushing or pulling than you just would walking it in on your back. One trip on foot will get you there FIRST, which can make all the difference on public land. |

I would put the stuff in a boat and drive it out there.

These are all great suggestions. One thing is missing that will kill two birds with one stone (or shell?) Take along a few teenagers. They are always willing to show you how tough they are and you keep the sport going for the next generation.

Otter sled. I rigged it up with a bungee net from a minivan to hold everything in while on the walk in. Also put two spud poles on it to hold t in place. I hunt in about waist deep water and use the sled for the dog and gear in a bucket while hunting. Works great, gives my dog a place to sit and a place to set things. I even put my thermacell on one of the spud poles works great.
