it really depends on how sunny it is...if you face or hands are ever in direct sun, they really stick out. other times if you are careful and are good about hiding your face in your layout blind or under the top of your duck blind it usually seems to work fine

I have a couple of face masks that I use if I am hunting from the weeds but if I am in the blind I don't. Our blind only has about a 3" wide opening to look out of with the lids closed so my theory is that if the birds can see me then, a covered face isn't going to help at that point but I could be wrong. Although some days though I swear I could be wearing orange while my dog has a cow bell on and the ducks would still fly with in shooting range.

Go on the marsh one day when it's slow and look at how much people's faces and hands stick out. Keep em covered for the most part.

I like the face paint, if its too cold... I still wear face paint. I feel like i can't hear anything with a mask/stocking cap (horrible hearing). When I go with my friends back home, i'd wear an old school hockey mask (like Jason wears), but I found an all black one.

Big believer of covering the skin.

I wear gloves even when it's 80 degrees for early season. I use face paint because it's hard to call with a face mask on and I can hear it rubbing on my ears. I don't really hunt from a blind as much as I hide in the weeds, so I'm more visible than if I was in a boat or layout blind.

IMO a face mask is the only way to go... Takes too much time to get cleaned up for before school/work if your using paint and to risk being busted for not coving up is not an option when wearing a mask is so easy.

I carry baby wipes in the truck to get the paint off my face and they come in real handy if I have to crap too. I have been laughed at in the drive thru on the way home before after forgetting to wipe it off...the face paint that is.

face paint early in the year but when it gets cold out I will switch to a face mask and it doesn't matter if I am in a blind or hiding in the weeds.

If hunting out of a wheat field or corn I don't put face paint on in a layout blind. Otherwise I have it on at all times!
