Default Layout blinds

I'm looking into getting a layout blind for field hunting but don't have much money to spend. Does anyone use the Avery Power Hunter? It has a single door opening cover, and I think I might prefer one with a double flap style cover. If I go cheap will I regret it? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Look up Felice03 I believe is his user name... He has a finisher for around $100 which is a great price!! I wouldn't recommend the powerhunter... Sometimes they are nice for quick hunts or when the stubble is really cut low but overall uncomfortable.

I recommend the finisher cuz I have hunted out of mine for 6 years and it still is holding up great and very comfy for longer days in the field

One of my buddies bought a cheap layout and after spray painting the white inside, drilling out the hinges, and something else he has got it to be decent. Spend the money now, or you will spend it later. Either way you're going to want a good blind. Rogers has a number of layout blind with frames for $180 or less.

I see you are in Cedar Falls. Thinking there is a Scheels there. I have a Scheels blind that I like....it is the same as the Rodgers blind. Check it out. I was thinking they were on sale or were on sale recently.

I thought the Scheels blind was basicly an Avery Finisher. The good thing about the Scheels blind is that it has a lifetime warrenty. You should be able to pick one up for $150 and it comes with a free Avery flag and skull cap.

You are right the Scheels blinds are nice but they are not finishers. They really aren't much like a finisher other than when they are set up they are about the same size. If that is the blind you want Cody posted a link to the same blind on the rogers site. Rogers sells it with a snow cover, which is a groundforce snow cover. You can't beat that price!

I'm a little over 6 ft. Will I have trouble with blind length at all?

No, you will be fine, they way you sit in them is not flat on your back, so you wont take up the whole blind. Like others have said, get a decent blind, you wont regret it. I have 1 finisher, 2 power hunters, and a ground force that I just got this year. I'm liking the groundforce. It is very low profile, yet has the features of a full size blind. I do like my power hunters though. Uncomfortable-yes, but they are nice and low. I use my PH in beans and short stubbled fields to make my hide easier. They make it easier to kill stuff in short cover. Huff
