so just forget about the raffia grass and just use corn stalks when hunting in a ripped field?

Absolutely. Rafia sticks out like a sore thumb in a ripped field. I don't think it looks good in an unplowed field either, but that's my opinion. I have my layout darkened and then stick it full of corn stalks, seems to look pretty good in unripped fields, and disappears perfectly in chiseled/ripped fields.

JMO
