In the 2011 Iowa Migratory Game Bird Hunting Regs booklet it has today's (Oct 24th) sunrise at 6:25 am and sunset at 5:08 pm. On weatherunderground and weatherbug it has today's sunrise at 7:27 am and sunset at 6:10 pm.
Why the difference? Just wanting to know what to do so I don't start shooting before legal light. Thanks |

Iowa bases these times off of a table that has been sitting in a dusty office for years. It is close enough to the general sunrise sunset times. It is best to follow the book.
Also don't forgot to add the hour before and after daylight savings. And don't forgot to adjust for the +4 minute zones that they have listed.
