So as I am realizing that my 6 year old pair of Waders are not going to make it through another season, Im going to need to figure out what kind to get next.
In the past I have had all LaCrosse waders, and been pretty impressed at the durability. As far as what I'm looking for goes: Needs to be Insulated Neoprene pair Has anyone had a pair that has stayed dry on the inside, so what i mean is it seems like sometimes the water permeates through, or maybe that's a result of my old waders. And I would like a fairly comfortable boot. So go at, tell me what you guys think.

I'd be tickled to get 6yrs out of pair. I normally get 2-3yrs and by then they have so many holes in them that I may just as well coat the whole dang thing in glue. But I like canvas waders. I'd probably have a heart attack putting on neoprenes now a days.

lacross are great waders, but still when you use them 4-5 times a week or so they still only lasted me 3 years. right now i am on season 3 with my cabelas 1600's.. ill like them alot. very comfortable and warm i might add. but dont expect to wear them early in the season unless your just wearing a jock under them... way too hot.
a few things that i have learned through buying waders, is not to buy the velcro strap... the DRAKE waders SUCK BIG TIME!!! and not to skimp on quality.... they wont last 1/2 as long

I'll second the cabelas 1600 waders got 6 years out of my last pair and just baught a new set for this year probally could of got another year out of the old ones with a little glue on them but nothing is worse than being in the middle of nowhere with 30* water leaking in and then trying to get new ones when you should be out hunting!

Lacrosse. I have had a pair since High school still wear them all the time. The silicone I put on one of the seams is weaping a little but for 14 years old i cant complain.
I do have a pair of Cabelas 1600 Supper Mags I wear when it gets chilly. They are ok, I don't like the stretchy shoulder straps. |

I have LaCrosse BrushTuff II's and they're complete junk. I loved them at first, but they now leak in about 8 spots and are being held together by Aquaseal. All the seams leaked and both knees blew out just from regular use. They're only 2 years old.

My Mad Dogs are on their 7th or 8th season. All the seams are still fine but the front of the legs are finally starting to show a little wear. Considering i usually walk in this is fairly impressive. Probably won't buy another pair until i find extremely similar ones.

x2 I did like the velcro straps. Usually leave the shoulder straps undone on my super mags.

You mean waders last more than a season?
I've been buying the cheapest 3.5 Neo that I can find. $99 for columbias and replace every year. Guess I'll look into LaCrosse or 1600s. |

I love my Cabela's Three forks. My first pair lasted 4 years and I wear them a lot. 40 days straight while trapping, plus waterfowl hunting, fishing, and spring beaver trapping. Not the warmest, but they are very comfortable and there is enough room to put on heavier clothing underneath.

I've never had to replace my waders yearly and I'm always walking in, hell I wear mine in the corn when it's really wet. Make sure you get shoulder straps with buckles, my current pair has velcro because I was in a pinch when I bought them. The woven 'brushbuster' material is much better than straight neoprene as well. |
