I also had some Drakes and they didnt come up far enough on the sides. My favorite pair was some DU Mad Dog Gears. I had them for several years only had 1 hole that was my fault and easily fixed with aquaseal. They kept shrinking every year tho and by the end I had to grease up to just get in them

I've had the Cabela's 1600's for 5 years now. I sliced the boot open this year and shoe glued them back together. I like them a lot, they cut down on the layers in the late season. I also bout a pair of Cabela's Brush Busters this year. I have to say so far they are pretty tough. I climbed over a barbed wire fence with them and ran a barb over one of the legs. They did not snag at all and look to be just fine. I wish they would make them in stout though, the regulars are a bit slim in the chest.
I always coat new waders with aqua seal or thinned out silicone when I get them home. |

I would get Cabela's just because of their warranty.
I bought a pair of Super Mags from them, wore them 3 times and decided I needed a smaller size and they were glad to exchange them. My Lacrosse Brush-Tuff leaked after a season. The whole crotch is covered in Aqua-Seal and they still leak. |

I wear a light breathable pair with 600 thinsulate. If it is extremely cold I will layer. I really like to be mobile and the heavy neoprene just wasn't for me and yes they have the buckle straps.

I do the same thing. Had mine for 2 years with no issues. Most of my cold weather hunts I do in my layout blind w/out waders.

I've got a pair of Cabela's SuperMag 1600's and Cabela's First Flight breathable's that I wear depending on how cold it gets.
Both of them are great waders and have no complaints on either set.

I'm going to recant my sugestion on the cabelas 1600 supper mags! My first pair lasted like 5 years and still are holding up pretty good with a little seeping on a couple seams. I ordered a new pair for this year and after a month of use one of the boots were falling apart and all of the seams leaked! A buddy has a pair from last year and both of his boots are falling apart. Seems like they have cheapened them up now I have to look for a new pair for next year.
