Thanksgiving weekend always brings a migration of skybusting idiots to public marshes. Load up.

Lets hope the push comes during the week so we don't have all the skybusters around.

If you are able to hunt Thanksgiving day it is amazing. Only day of the year that you won't have competition in Green Island!

Better hope for a reverse migration because the ducks are in Missouri now. These were taken over the weekend in northern Missouri.

We shot 2 pinnies, 5 mallards, and 5 GWT drakes on Sunday. Monday was a bust with only 3 drake GWT though.

currently ducks are strung out clear from north dakota, south dakota, down through iowa and into missouri. at this point, with the weather it looks like steady movement for the rest of the season. whether or not there will be big "pushes" is hard to say. there is usually a big one at the tail end of the migration, and that usually happens around the first week of december. i'm hoping for some good shoots when i get back.

if there is a push...i hope it happens tuesday ...

speaking of which, anyone wanna hunt tuesday?

I have vacation today, then I have tomorrow and Friday off. I have to work Saturday, and then I have the next six days off. I plan to hunt as much as I can and make a run out to the big river sometime next week.

Isn't squat for non-mallards on NE Iowa marshes right now. After last weeks slaughter the new mallards are already wise/refuge smart. I wish a blizzard to Minnesota otherwise pretty sure we'll be covered up after season with mallards. Not that, that would be new.

Yah right. Best flight days in the last 5 years down here have been on some form of South wind.
