Does anyone have a good method of drying out waders? I ripped a boot the other day and put them on a Peet dryer. When I put them on this morning they were still soaked in the boot. I am running a hair dryer in the boot now. Just wondering if there was a better way.

my garage door track is pretty sturdy and holds 2 pairs of waders hung by the straps on each side.... boot/wader dryers are top on the list but i dont have one yet.. if you can hang them upside down that works better if your boots get wet. i like to make sure they are not bunched up and can hang free...laying them on the floor is no good... sometimes i drape them over a saw-horse..if the cars are in the garage. but hanging them works better... this week i may even run my dual propane heater for an hour or two as they hang to help them dry faster
as for your hair dryer method... it works great for knee high boots but waders.. not so much unless you fold them down to just the boot and thats all your trying to dry out

You tried the Peet dryer? Are you using the wader tube attachement? When I use mine the have always dried pretty well.

Turn them inside out and fill the feet with news paper. Works like a charm with all boots the paper will wicks up moisture.

Good idea...I usually just hang mine in the basement like mallard said. I run a dehumidifier next to them as well. Mine are usually wet from sweating, but they are dry by the next morning. Main thing is get air to them and dont wad them up..

X2. I hang them up in the in a small room in the basement with a dehumidifier. Mine too get wet from sweating but I don't usually notice since I wear wader liner pants. If I do want the inside dry I put newspaper in them or I lay them on the floor and put a blower fan in them.

Hang upside down, dehumidifier or fan underneath.

Hair Dryer here. Roll waders down and 15 minutes per leg. Rest easy knowing you'll have dry waders in the morning. If not completely dry and your in a jam, put a garbage bag around your leg before putting your waders on.
As for hanging them I made a hanger out of a 2x4. Invision the #3 but square the back of the boots slide into the front of the 2 slots and the back of the 3 screws into the wall. Way handier then those wire wader hangers. |

I usually hang mine upside down or put them on a Peet drier and that is sufficient. I ended up running the hair dryer for close to two hours last night and there was still a bit of water in them this morning. I think when the side of the boot sliced open all the insulation got water logged and is holding it in. I am going to run the hair drier in them some more tonight and put paper in them after that.
I think the amount of water was just too much for the Peet drier now. |

I fold them inside out at the knee (like fireman's boots) and set under a ceiling fan on medium speed. Always dry in the morning, but never had a leak before, just sweat.

I have a Peet dryer and 3 sets of extensions. Takes over night usually but are always dry.
