Default Late Season Field Hunting Tips

Anybody have any late season techniques that work well for decoying late season geese? We have tried 3 dozen fullbodies mixed with shells and no sucess, even tried just 3 decoys with no luck any suggestions guys? Also tried calling an not calling along with flaging.

Assuming there is snow on the ground, are you using a snow cover? Birds have seen alot by this time of year and you have to be hidden very well.

We had the same problem yesterday. 8 dozen on the X without hardly a 2nd pass. We need a little real weather to change the game.

Find the x. Seems the later in the season the more picky they get. If you can find the x you will get birds. Scout Scout Scout Scout!!!!!!

My big problem latley is getting hid in chisle plowed fields. My advice would be to dig in and get invisible or get out of our decoys and take tougher shots.

These geese are getting smarter by the day, we have to adapt and overcome. That is part of being a hunter.

I did alot of scouting this weekend. Geese are wierd right now. tonight i watched 300 trying to set in to a field, they locked up big as shit, wasn't a wing beat in the flock for 300 yards, then bugged out at about 10 yards off the deck, circled around 6-8 times and finially set into the field in 4 different locations abour 300 yards apart.

I saw alot of smaller flocks wig out like this all weekend. very shy!

Noticing this too, not sure of the reason. They fly around like they are lost.
