whats the deal? Its been 40 degrees everday we need some cold weather and snow which does not look like its going to happen this year. It also seems the deer are shedding alot sooner this year

It is just a screwy year. Like Shane said, we need snow and colder temps badly. I haven't been deer hunting cause I got my muzzle loader buck earlier in the season. I have been out trying to get some coyotes called in the past few days to no avail, but while I've been out, the deer are everywhere! However, no big bucks though. Your big bucks are purely nocturnal at this point in the year. After everyone gets them stirred up during shotgun season, us muzzle loader hunters hope and pray for brutally cold temps and snow to bring those big bucks out of their bedding areas early to feed. Since they don't have such a need to feed, they just hang out until it is dark to move. Only thing I could suggest is you are gonna have to start pushing bedding areas and hope you jump your buck. It is just a weird year.
