The ONLY thing that I dont like about the Scheels waders is they are velcro straps, which you would think is good but they just arnt. they dont get tight enough and constatnly fall off my shoulder. I superclued 3" of additonal velcro onto the inside of the chest part so I could put the staps further down so they didnt come undone when carrying a shell pouch and other gear on a walk in hunt. I mentioned this to the Scheels guy and he said he would mention that to the wader makers for them. But I like the design and they are pretty comfy and I like the features. But man the lifetime warranty is well worth it to me cause we all know neopreme waders dont last long if you are an actual use them more than a handful of hunts!

yeah i dont like the velcro idea.. my dad had the version that cabelas makes with the velcro straps and after the first year, retired them to backup waders only and he bought a new pair.. between my dad, brother and i, we all wore them quite often when one of our pairs were wet or frozen, and we couldnt stand the straps. i dont think velcro has much life after it gets wet, dirty or used a bunch anyways..

still tho im liking the guarantee.. sometimes it feels like i go through them so damn fast.. never had a pair really last me more than 3 seasons.. and thats my current pair

I don't think you can buy them anymore but a buddy of mine has had a pair of Red Ball waders for at least 12 years and they have never leaked and still don't. He's not one that takes great care of things either. He left them in my garage for 2 years, folded down, without being in any protective container when he moved to Florida. When he moved back they were still in tip-top shape. These are the old canvas/rubber waders and it seems like they weigh 50 lbs but they are tough as nails. He retired them last year but still has them as a back up.

I have the same problem with those 1600 Cabelas waders. I sent mine back after 3 years because they cracked at the top of the ankle. They gave me $200 towards a new pair. I didn't think that was too bad for a 3 year old pair of waders. I noticed a crack starting on my new pair already so they will be going back before next season starts.

There are alot of good waders out there the lasting part is the problem. I've had the cabellas and they were okay. Went through two pair of them. Decided to try Drake waders loved them until they started cracking in the foot seams. Am supposed to get a new pair through drake. My dad back in the days wore the old Northerner boots and those things lasted forever. For the money we are paying we should be gettin better quality stuff!

I have the same waders but with no cracks in the boots. The problem I have is they leak in two places along seams. Good waders, but will cabelas replace them straight up for another pair? I wish they would work on the cracking issue. Even the slip on style boots crack.
