Hello to all at Iowa Waterfowl. I live outside of Buffalo, NY near the shores of Lake Erie. I am 63 years old, I have been an avid waterfowler for over 20 years and hope to be able to enjoy the sport for as long as I can drag myself into a boat or slough trough a swamp. I have had wonderful dogs to enjoy the sport with all these years and have trained and trialed them in the earlier years. I hunt in the Iroquois National Refuge, Tonawanda State wildlife area, but over the past 11 years most time has been spent in Canada across Lake Erie as a member of the Long Point Waterfowlers Association. One of the reasons for joining this site was to ask Iowa waterfowlers about Paul Kingyon. I have always had several of his calls and bought one for my son several years ago. I spoke to him on the phone a few years back, but have not been able to find out much about him for quite a while. Does anyone know if Paul is still with us and how I can contact someone about getting calls or repairs?

Sorry to hear about Paul Kingyon's passing. He was certainly a water fowling icon to many who introduced me to duck hunting over 20 years ago. Those Hunters I have come into contact with from Western New York to Long Point, Ontario knew of him and have almost memorized that famous tape he sent with his calls and loved to scream on his calls like none other. He was one of a kind, just like his calls. He will be missed by all of us who love the sport.

Welcome, as stated we lost an Icon for sure a few weeks back. Someone has picked up Paul's torch and is making his calls in the tradition and method Mr. Kinyon would be proud of. Maybe someone can chime in because for the life of me I can't remember his name.
