Default Anyone make their own Silo Socks

I have 3 full rolls of tyvek in the shop that probably will never get used. I heard of guys making snow socks out of them. Any help would be appreciated.

I would get my hands on a sock, start tracing, and get sewing. You can order the coroplast heads/backbones, liner bags, and hook stakes from Jim Druliner-after that all you need is a stapler, paint, and a case of beer for you and your buddies as you assemble them! Is it 1443r tyvek?

We made socks from tyvek. In fact I need to get making some more which means I need to sweet talk the wife into sewing the bodies. The worst is the neck. The green plastic I get from the lumber yard sucks to sew around. I have to hand sew it.

just like kruger said, you need 1443r for silo sock type dekes...coroplast isn't the easiest to work with, but cutting bodies your self certainly isn't impossible.

you can also make the j stakes your self...however, the liner bags are pretty much impossible to find. those you would be better off ordering. with out them, sillosocks look pretty lame with no wind

if you have another kind of tyvek then you might be better off making regular windsocks
