I remember mine it was this year. Two green wing teal flew over the pond we were hunting. I shot the one on the left and it crumpled. We found it in the weeds. Unfortunately it was not a drake but green wing hens are still pretty cool. My second favorite was a wood duck drake I shot over the river. Would of been great mount. This was my first year so I don't have too many duck hunts under my belt. But I would like to hear your favorite duck that you have killed.

The first ducks I called in by myself. This is no lie, a pair of mallards, one hen and one drake.

I do what I can. Someone needs to shoot
a full limit of hens and put them on his door step.

Last year on the Missouri I shot a drake Goldeneye at damn near full speed at 10 yards. We heard the 4 goldeneyes long before we saw them. It was mid day, 3 hens and 1 drake. With out a thought, Derek and I stood to swing on them going full speed that close. Derek Never fired, and I fired once, dropping the drake. If i would have taken a second to think about it, I doubt I would have fired. A little instict and alot of luck kicked in. I hope to have the cash this year to send it in to be mounted. That was only the 4th goldeneye I had ever taken.
My favorite shot I have seen taken by another hunter hunting with me was in canada. One of the guys I took out hunting had a cackler try to land on his foot bag, and he defended himself admirably. Not a clean decapitation, but not a BB in the meat, and blood all over the blind! Till this day, I have never seen someone pop out of a blind that fast to kill a bird. We laughed for 15 minutes afterwards.

Mine are the pair of old squaws I have on the wall. In my opinion divers are alot more excitement and less predictable then most ducks.

It was a drake pintail. Shot it the second or third year I hunted. Never mounted a duck, but if I ever do it will be a pintail.

Mine would be the pair of blue wings I shot on my first duck hunt. Those two started this obsession.

1st Canvasback Drake, after a long day on hunting with no ducks we were leaving through a cut and a cripple jumped off of the bank and "flew" to the best of his ability. Some may think of it as odd with all the memories to choose from.
Favorite duck I didn't shoot would bring up a lot as well, still tons that drive me nuts |
