My dad has had english pointers forever. When quail went down hill he didn't get anymore and got out of running dogs due to frustrations with the quail populations. Those dogs could flat out run no questions asked!

My first hunting dog was a pointer setter cross. Excellent dog. When I got on my own and wanted more couldn't find e pointers around so went with e setters. Still have 1 left but without birds don't think I'll own anymore. But always wanted an e pointer just couldn't pull the trigger.

I think GSP are more of a northern dog and EP are more used in the south. I love the EP with the big blocky heads. Nice looking dogs and running dogs.
