Default My first Critter

I just decided to start Trapping on January 1st, so I went out and bout 12 duke snares, 6 #2's, and 6 1 and 1/2's. So Last weekend I set out my first line. it was 12 snares first, and quickly realized that was not enough for what i wanted to cover, so i went and bought 3 more dozen and today I got my first catch it was a red fox. I also got a possum but let him go.

So hopefully I get my first coyote soon, i have the duke snare traps from scheels and i have already had two coyotes break the stop off of them, kind of upsetting. So dont buy them if you see them!

Skunks, opossums and coons can play a big role in destroying upland bird and waterfowl nests to get at the eggs that they like to eat. That is one of the reasons trapping is such a vital population control technique.

Duck Slayer, what does the snare lock look like on the Duke snares? I don't know what kind you are talking about.
