Default Having trouble breaking down 1187

Does anyone out there shoot a Rem 1187 supermag? I'm having trouble getting the trigger assembly to come out of the action for cleaning. I think it should come out easily, but mine won't come out at all. It moves pretty freely but is getting hung up somewhere. Any advice?

Try this. Put the two pins back in. Check to make sure it is unloaded. Pull the lever back to cock it, put it on safe, remove the two pins. Grasp the trigger guard pull out and back. It may pull hard if it hasn't been removed since new.

I have watched a few videos and they all show the trigger assembly coming out quite easily. Mine just will not come out. I have not been overly gentile with it but don't want to overdo it either.

You tube can solve alot of problems! The trick is to find the right video.

Where are you located?

I have an 1187 and have had a 5-6 inch piece of spring steel that is approximately 5/16 wide along one side that prevents the next shell from coming out of the magazine come loose and that has prevented the action from coming out.
