Default New Guy W/GSP looking for good vest and hunting partners

Just found this forum and when I was looking for a good vest for my GS girl Addy. I live in Colorado Springs, CO and when hunting upland birds the prairie grass is real hard on her chest. The other problem when looking for a good neoprene vest is they don't usually accommodate GSP's long deep and narrow chest and skinny neck. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a suitable vest for my girl.

Addy will turn a year old in a month and she has all the right characteristics of a classic high strung, wanna go get em GSP. She has turned out to be a natural retriever with with a driving desire to please me but she hasn't hunted over a 12 GA yet.

If you live in Colorado and need a hunting buddy just let me know and we'll see if we're a match. I'm a 100% disabled veteran from the Viet Nam era. I get around good enough to hunt but have to go slow as after three different kinds of cancer, heart surgery and a long list of other things I don't have the stamina of a normal 62 year old. I certainly don't act 62 so that should be a plus. I'm an extravert by nature and like to make new friends and have fun hunting or fishing.

BTW, don't worry I won't die on you :-)

I bought a Cabelas vest for my short, fat Brittany and it adjusted enough for her. She would get cut up pretty bad hunting the prairie grass around here and now her chest and belly don't get cut and nicked anymore.

Welcome aboard by the way. I lost an uncle to colon cancer this past fall that also served in Vietnam. Hope you find a vest for your short hair.
