the answer is opening up health insurance to markets across state lines. competition always leads to lower costs for consumers.

That's great, and I know that I appreciate people like you, but the problem is that you are the exception rather than the rule. What would happen if you got cancer? Do you know the number one cause of bankruptcies in the United States? It's medical bills. When those people declare bankruptcy who do you suppose pays their bill? Those of us who have health insurance do, and here's how... The hospitals have to pass those costs on to someone. They do this by charging us more for their services. The insurance companies then have to pay more, and in turn they are forced to charge their customers higher premiums. It's no coincidence that the hospitals with the highest percentages of insured customers also tend to charge the least for their services.

I guarantee that if all the politicians out there had to pay for the gas in their jets fancy suvs and limos gas wouldn't be as high as it is now.

Forcing somthing like a helmet law is just stupid. Only person it hurts is themselves. I definitely think they are a good idea, but the government doesn't need to be telling everyone how to live.

Medicare Fraud has become the largest criminal enterprise in Florida. That's right, it ousted the drug trade for the top spot.

You guys really shouldn't be complaining about a gas tax, a lot of people take for granted the infrastructure provided by the state and local government everyday.

You don't want the tax, then dont expect anyone to fix the potholes in front of your house, or put more gravel on the roads, plow them even.

Alot of our road systems were built in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
