I hear that 5 star tuning makes an awesome tuner for that truck.

The thing about changing the stock tune is that it probably voids the warranty. I'm also pretty sure if you were involved in an accident at 100+ your insurance company may not be interested in a claim.

I guess I should have asked for opinions on the Ecoboost motor before I made up my mind. The salesman was definitely steering me away from the Eco. Which I found weird. Cuz they had one on the lot. They had to dealer trade for mine.

One of the big reasons I didn't go with the Eco was the warranty. My feeling is that if Ford they had that much confidence in the Ecoboost then they would offer a better warranty. JMO

Some tuning programs leave "artifact" on the computer, and some don't. If you can get a tuner that doesn't leave "artifact" on the vehicle's computer you can reset it to stock and they won't know that you did anything to it unless you tell them. As far as refusing a claim goes I have never heard of an insurance company refusing a claim. They might drop you afterwards, but I'm fairly certain that there's nothing in the underwriting that allows them to get out of paying.

Almost bought a Dodge when they first came out with the Cummins mtr. Ended up with a Chevy now that I have pretty much modified from front to back. 5.7 litre and I get a consistent 20 mpg. with all the power I need for towing my boat anywhere.

Put 500 miles on it going to NW Missouri which included interstate driving in some higher wind and scouting on low maintainence roads and averaged about 16.5 which I thought was alittle low. Seems like I'm getting better mileage then that but that's what the truck said. Going to Omaha this summer I was at 19.

My dad has the same truck but in slt package and last fall on some longer trips, he was up around 19-20.

The truck in this picture is an ecoboost, has the same warranty available for it as all 3 other motor options, and looks identical to the truck sitting in my garage.

So you bought a truck from them after the tried to screw you out of 6k.

No I told them to get bent. I am heading to Sleepy Hollow this Friday to pick Mandy up a new van. So I was going to do a little truck shopping while I was there too.
