Yesterday we did not have school so I turned 4 duck calls and 6 goose calls Made 3 display boxes for 3 sets of calls worked the dog on some long blinds and headed out and looked at the wetlands. Started painting snow goose decoys at 5:30 this morning. Also went to the wetlands to watch the geese, watched F5 6 or 7 times and worked on decoys with the dog laying by my feet.
Started day dreaming wondering how many guys work on decoys,practice their calling watch waterfowl dvd or videos work their dog year round etc.
Just wondered if most guys are as nuts as I am or just when the season gets near?
If I am not doing something waterfowl releated everyday I would say that is a rare day for me.
So are you what you would say hardcore or not?

I practice calling year round, cause I'm not very good. Watch the DVDs I have twice a month but you're got me beat by painting decoy and probably have 95% of us beat by making calls. So I'd say you're more hardcore than me

Last Honk yougot to remember an old man needs lots of room and cover behind him. if I was your age and did not hunt with anybody I would have one. But I was interested in a 16-18ft 56-60 wide boat I can build a high low on. the show kind of made me think I was at the county fair. its changed in the last few years I think. we stopped at Jims Ribs for lunch thats still GOOd

That was about it for me to Dean minus turning calls and building boxes. I do that stuff year round as well.

Once in awhile in the off season I drag everything out of the trailer and reortganize it for no apperant reason at all.

The light marsh is the all aluminum hard side blind. It had the the snap on rain curtains, it was on the boat without a motor.

I am in NO WAY say that I am the hardcore guru!
I just want to hear if you guys have this sickness as I do!!!!!!!
It is a good sickness but sometimes others do not understand.
