There is no off season!! I usually am doing something waterfowl or hunting related to improve from what I gathered the previous season. For me it's usually updating my equipment and gear. So far this year after the season ended, I've aquired a few more decoys to add some diversity to my spread with some cans, woodies, teal, and widgeon dekes. Also added a few sleeper decoys, which I might get a few more of. I've added a new front end to my boat blind, and welded up a bench/decoy storage compartment on the inside. Next is making a few lids for the top, re arrange my heaters, and spraying the inside of the blind with foam insulation. I should be more than set when I get those jobs completed. I need to replace the bunks on my layout boat trailer as well. Other than that, I'm usually blowing a call, watching videos, going to seminars or reading articles. Always trying to improve and gain knowledge. Of course you have to fill in your spare time with coyote hunting, crow hunting, turkey hunting and some fishing. As far as hardcore, I don't hunt in monsoon rain storms or when the wind is blowing 50 mph. Isnt much fun, and of the times ive gone when its like that I haven't done any good. For me those are good days to catch up on cleaning and maintaining gear...
